"Cooking Out For a Cause: Kidney for Paula"
On Saturday, August 24, 2013, from 2 pm to 6 pm at Northside Park (Shelter #1) in Norfolk, VA,
Powerhouse Media Group (PMG) will proudly host "Cooking Out For a Cause: Kidney for Paula". Paula Kelly, a single mom and native of Norfolk, VA, is in need of a kidney transplant to keep on living. This cookout fundraiser will enable her to raise $7,000 which will cover her surgery and the expenses of the kidney donor who will be out of work for weeks post surgery.
DJ Marvin Cox will be providing music. There will be games and activities as well as raffles to make this an eventful occasion for a truly worthy cause.

1st Annual Timothy Huff Back-2-School Supply Giveaway & Birthday Celebration

Chesapeake, VA (August 6, 2013) – On Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 10 am to 3 pm at Providence Road Church in Chesapeake, VA, Powerhouse Media Group (www.stepintoyourpower.net) will present the 1st Annual Timothy Huff Back-2-School Supply Giveaway & Birthday Celebration. The goal of this annual event is to provide backpacks, pencils, composition notebooks, combination locks, markers, index cards and other school essentials to students returning to school in September 2013. The theme of the day is "Equipped & Ready to Learn". In conjunction with this mission, PMG will be celebrating the 10th birthday of Sparrow Road Intermediate honor roll student and Chesapeake Tigers football player Timothy “Sir Isaac” Huff.
In addition to giving out free supplies, PMG will have a parent resource table, a literacy table where students can pick a book, a vision board table to create goals for the 2013-2014 academic year, Zumba instruction, and face painting by Clara Huff who is the Artistic Director of My Budding Picasso Art and an AVID scholar at Indian River Middle School. The youth in attendance will vie for prizes as they play PMG's signature brain testing game "Are You Savvier Than a Powerhouse?" as well as other games and contests.
South Hampton Roads’ very own DJ Cylint 1 will be spinning and hip-hop Christian group sWord will be performing. Some of the event’s sponsors include Nestle Toll House (Pembroke Mall), Cranberry Pistachio Creations, Jillian's, The 4 Wheel Association, Juicy Magazine, DJ Bee of 103 Jamz, SAK The Brand and Mz. Day Day of Atlanta, GA. Additionally, there will have vendors to promote their business, product or service including Avon.
“This is going to be an amazing day for the youth of South Hampton Roads,” says Feona Sharhran Huff, Founder & CEO of Powerhouse Media Group. “We want to bless the students with starter supplies and get them equipped for school so that they will truly be ready to learn”.
