I firmly believe that anything is possible to achieve in life when you believe in yourself and put in the work. I am reminded of the song "Anything is Possible" by Gabrielle Pinkney. She is an 11-year-old powerhouse who sings, models, acts and travels the country as a Heart Ambassador to convey the importance of healthy living and proactive care.

Today's "Express YourSELF" workshop featuring rapper and songwriter Archie Boone was a hit with the youth in attendance. 

Archie, known by the musical name Justarchie, helped the intermediate and middle school students to create the beginnings of a theme song for Powerhouse Media Group. He engaged their minds and the lyrics easily flowed. 

Not only did they develop two verses and a hook, but they also learned that their words have power and can create powerful things. 

Thank you to Timothy, Diamond, Quiana, Jourdan, Samara and Shai Tesha for expressing their selves. Thank you to my Soror Ashley Edwards for assisting with the workshop. Thank you to Ernest Lowery for capturing some special moments (FYI: To be posted soon). Thank you to Scott, owner of Sonic (S. Military Hwy & Providence Rd in Chesapeake), for providing gift certificates for free ice cream cones. 

There will be another "Express YourSELF" songwriting workshop in the future. Stay tuned.
